Do cats behavior after being neutered change?

Original Question: My 8-month neutered Abyssinian cats personality has changed. He used to be affectionate and purred a lot but now he bites me and doesn't purr at all. He eats well and seems physically healthy and I am not sure what to do! - Judith

Do cats behavior after being neutered change? Oct 10, 2017

Hi Judith,

Getting him checked out with your veterinarian would be first on the list to make sure there are no lingering issues or painful areas after the surgery. Depending on when the surgery was, this may or may not be contributing. Alternatively, it would be important to consider if there are any other changes to the home or environment that may be stressing him out, and this could include both indoor and outdoor things that he may be noticing but we as people may write off.

All the best.
