Why is my cat no longer eating and always vomiting?

Hi Leona,

Thanks for your question.

There is very little detail in your question which makes it difficult to give you a specific answer.

Vomiting in cats can be caused by so many reasons. It could be ingestion of foreign material, toxin ingestion, helicobacter infection, bacterial infection, viral infection, parasitic infection, anxiety, thyroid disease, kidney disease, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, and cancer to name a few. It will likely take more diagnostics to determine the cause. So far you have simply used an anti-nausea medication, antacid and appetite stimulant. These are basically treatments for the symptoms, not an actual disease process because the cause is unknown at this time.

The next steps I would do is to perform radiographs, a fecal test, fecal culture and speak to your veterinarian about a more specific treatment trial or longer course of supportive medication. If you still do not see improvement, the next test I would recommend is an abdominal ultrasound. I think this will likely find the cause of the vomiting and inappetence.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
