What age should a puppy be vaccinated for rabies?

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your question.

The age that is suggested by both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association is 16 weeks. I always recommend that you discuss these recommendations with the veterinarian you’ve been working with because they know you and your pet the best. It’s important that all vaccination decisions are made on an individual basis and not on a blanket recommendation. Rabies is required by law and will likely fall into the category of maintaining a general population recommendation, but it is critical that you confirm that with your family veterinarian.

I hope this helps.
