Buying insurance is a very personal decision that must be based on your feelings about risk and comfort about cost. No one buys insurance hoping to use it but it can certainly improve your sense of security in the face of unforeseen illnesses.

They discuss generalities because every policy is different. You should always have to read the fine print and take the time to truly understand the policy outline. Having a discussion with your vet is also a good idea.
